Duties of the Canteen and Cafeteria Inspection Unit Commission
- The Canteen and Cafeteria Supervision Unit Commission and its members are formed by the dean and carry out their activities after the approval of the board of directors. The Dean chairs the Commission when necessary.
- To inspect the compliance of foods prepared, served and stored in canteens and cafeterias with the Turkish Food Codex, Hygiene Regulations and the ethical principles of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
- To regularly control the production, storage, service and presentation processes of food products.
- Conducting regular inspections at critical control points such as cold chain, hot service conditions, expiration dates, cleanliness and pest control.
- Monitoring whether products for students are offered at affordable prices.
- To evaluate whether product variety and portion balance are achieved.
- Checking the conformity of the product list specified in the contract in terms of content and weight.
- To supervise the canteen/cafeteria staff's compliance with cleaning rules.
- Checking whether the staff has received hygiene training and their health reports.
- Supervising the use of personal hygiene equipment such as gloves, bonnets and aprons.
- Making observations regarding the cleanliness, ventilation and ergonomic arrangement of seating areas.
- Evaluate the maintenance, cleanliness and safety of kitchen equipment used in the canteen/cafeteria area.
- Maintaining order in areas such as waste management and sink/toilet cleaning.
- To record complaints and suggestions from students and employees, analyze them regularly and suggest necessary corrections.
- To ensure that suggestions received through the feedback box or online complaint form are regularly evaluated.
- To monitor whether the provisions in the service agreement between the canteen/cafeteria operator and the university are fulfilled.
- To share inspection reports with relevant units (Rectorate, Health, Culture and Sports Department, etc.).
- To conduct comprehensive canteen inspections at least twice a year, and to organize sudden inspections when necessary.
- To prepare a written report after each audit and submit it to the Faculty Dean's Office.
- To convey the corrective actions deemed necessary based on the audit results to the operator in writing and to follow up on the implementations.
- The commission meets at least twice a year; the decisions taken at the meetings are recorded in minutes and summary information is published on the faculty website.
- Commission members continue their duties until a new appointment is made. A new appointment is made by the Dean's Office in place of a member who leaves for any reason.
- Members are required to attend meetings, and those who do not attend without a valid excuse will be subject to evaluation.
