Duties of the Psychological Counseling and Student Support Commission
The Psychological Counseling and Student Support Commission and its members are formed by the dean and carry out their activities after the approval of the board of directors.The Dean chairs the Commission when necessary.
To organize support programs (study, mentoring, consultancy, etc.) to increase academic success.
Identifying students who are struggling or have low academic achievement and developing individual support plans.
To organize programs together with the Orientation Commission that will guide new students during the adaptation process.
To provide guidance services for the psychological, social and personal problems encountered by students and to cooperate with the university psychological counseling unit.
Planning seminars, workshops and individual support programs on topics such as stress management, coping with exam anxiety and increasing motivation.
To help identify students in need of financial support.
To guide students and provide necessary guidance regarding scholarships, food support, dormitory facilities and part-time job opportunities.
To create structures where students can convey their opinions, suggestions and complaints; to evaluate this feedback and produce solutions.
Listening directly to students' demands by holding regular meetings with student representatives.
To guide students about post-graduation career planning, finding a job/internship, academic development and study abroad opportunities.
Organizing seminars and workshops on topics such as CV preparation and interview techniques.
To identify the needs of students and provide the necessary support in extraordinary situations such as earthquakes, floods and epidemics.
Acting quickly in processes such as distance education, psychological support or financial aid.
To facilitate the adaptation process of foreign students and to contribute to the solution of language/communication problems.
To guide incoming/outgoing students through Erasmus and similar programs.
To evaluate the effectiveness of the support activities, to measure student satisfaction and to prepare an annual activity report and present it to the Faculty Management.
The commission meets at least twice a year; the decisions taken at the meetings are recorded in minutes and summary information is published on the faculty website.
Commission members continue their duties until a new appointment is made. A new appointment is made by the Dean's Office in place of a member who leaves for any reason.
Members are required to attend meetings, and those who do not attend without a valid excuse will be subject to evaluation.
