Introduction
The Clinical Skills Student Society of Fırat University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is a student organization established to help students improve their professional competencies during both pre-clinical and clinical phases of education. The society aims to enhance students’ practical knowledge and application skills.
Founded with the principle of “learning by doing,” which emphasizes the importance of hands-on training in veterinary medical education, the society supports students in strengthening their clinical experience as well as their teamwork and communication abilities.
Aim and Responsibilities
The primary aim of the society is to encourage student participation in the teaching, practice, and development of clinical skills.
Its main objectives and responsibilities include:
Providing pre-clinical practical experience:
Enabling students to learn basic veterinary procedures through simulation models and training mannequins available in the laboratory.
Promoting clinical skills awareness:
Highlighting the importance of clinical applications within the faculty and increasing student participation in workshops, seminars, and practical sessions related to clinical skills.
Supporting educational activities:
Assisting in training sessions held in the Clinical Skills Laboratory, guiding new students, and ensuring the effective use of practice stations.
Organizing scientific and social events:
Strengthening student motivation by organizing workshops, courses, seminars, and promotional activities related to clinical skills.
Fostering ethical awareness and professional conduct:
Contributing to the development of conscious, sensitive, and responsible future veterinarians in areas such as animal welfare, professional ethics, and communication with animal owners.
