Duties of the Research and Development Commission
- The commission is formed by the dean and begins its activities with the approval of the board of directors.
- Determines the faculty's short, medium and long-term research strategies; directs scientific studies accordingly.
- It encourages national and international projects carried out by faculty members and students, and provides information and guidance in project writing and application processes.
- It announces the calls for support programs such as TÜBİTAK, the European Union, and BAP, and facilitates the application processes.
- It monitors publications included in indexes such as SCI/SCI-Expanded and Scopus, evaluates publication performance and develops incentive recommendations.
- Contributes to the faculty's publication policy and research vision.
- It develops academic collaborations within and outside the university; supports joint projects with the private sector, institutes, research centers and international institutions.
- Ensures efficient use of laboratories, research farms and other infrastructures; makes recommendations for the establishment of new laboratories or the updating of existing ones.
- Encourages active participation of master's and doctoral students in research; monitors and supports their thesis projects.
- It ensures the organization of scientific seminars, workshops, congresses and conferences or encourages participation.
- It prepares reports on the research activities and outcomes each year and shares these reports with the faculty administration.
- It ensures that R&D achievements are shared with the public; it undertakes initiatives to develop university-industry collaboration.
- The commission meets at least twice a year; the decisions taken are recorded in minutes and summary information is published on the faculty website.
- Members continue their duties until a new appointment is made; new members are appointed by the dean's office to replace those who leave.
- Members are required to attend meetings, and those who do not attend without a valid excuse will be subject to evaluation.
