The VEDEK preliminary information visit to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Fırat University took place between January 7-9, 2026, and was conducted within the framework of a comprehensive three-day program.
The first day of the visit began with the arrival of the information team in Elazığ and introductory and evaluation meetings with the faculty administration. In evening meetings, general expectations regarding the accreditation process and the scope of the visit were discussed.
On January 8, 2026, sessions were held where the importance of quality and accreditation in higher education, VEDEK standards, and the Self-Assessment Report process were shared in detail. The presentations, held in the Faculty Seminar Hall, attracted significant interest from the faculty administration, members of the quality-accreditation commission, academic and administrative staff, and students.
On the final day of the visit, the information team examined the faculty's academic units and application areas on-site, making observations about the education, research, and clinical infrastructure. At the closing of the program, a feedback meeting was held with the faculty administration based on the evaluations made.
The VEDEK preliminary information visit was an important step in evaluating our faculty's preparations for the accreditation process, reinforcing its strengths, and identifying areas for improvement at an early stage.
